Fatima Flores-Ortiz

Hello! My name is Fatima Flores-Ortiz, and I am running for Vice-President. This is currently my second year at Mt Sac and I am a Business Administration major and I graduated from Garey High School in Pomona. While in high school, I didn’t play any sports but I was in JROTC and in band. These two experiences helped me become a better leader and team player. Additionally, being a junior volunteer for Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center helped me gain new skills that help me in everyday life and communication. These experiences helped me become a stronger leader. During fall 2022 I was elected as the ICC co-chair and a few of the duties included chairing ICC meetings and communicating with clubs. This experience of being a leader in the Inter Club Council (ICC) has helped me realize I want to become someone who people can rely on and be approached without feeling scared to make their concerns be heard. I believe that clubs and other student programs should be more known to students. I think a lot of students aren’t aware of issues on the campus or resources provided by clubs/organizations. Because of this I hope to work to find a way to make sure everyone at Mt. SAC receives the resources they need and feel connected as a community. I believe I am a great leader and am always open to constructive criticism and by running for vice president I am hoping to make a positive difference in the lives of students and an equitable environment on campus.
